On July 15, 2004, Beta Oil & Gas, Inc. merged into its wholly owned subsidiary, Petrohawk, which merger reincorporated Beta in Delaware and changed its name to Petrohawk Energy Corporation. Prior to such merger, Beta completed a one for two reverse stock split of its common stock on May 26, 2004. As a result of the reverse stock split, each holder of Beta common stock owned one half as many shares of Beta common stock as it previously owned. How many shares of stock are outstanding?
